Director of Social Media

Gragg Advertising is looking for a Director of Social Media who will lead the strategic development and tactical initiatives across our client base, and serve as the lead social media strategist within the Social Media team. As part of the Social Media Team, the Director will support the securing and growth of both current clients and new business opportunities within the social media space. Primary responsibilities are the planning and growth of our client’s social media activation within the multichannel marketing ecosystem, internal education across the organization on innovation and opportunity within the social arena, knowledge sharing, and internal communications with the expectation to drive social media adoption making it a core competency of the organization.

Externally, this role is expected to serve as the primary subject matter expert, collaborating with clients to help them stay aware of social media trends and technology while supporting their marketing objectives within their industry. As part of the Social Media team, this role is expected to participate in and lead team meetings, create documentation and articles that support the team, and support client initiatives that provide a measurable and efficient return on marketing investment. The Social Media team is a subject matter expert group that works closely with clients and internal teams to enhance the agency and clients’ core competencies in social media, content creation and distribution, and customer engagement. The team interacts with internal and external clients daily and is responsible for building strong partner relationships and contributing to the clients’ strategic marketing initiatives and educational needs.

Position Overview

  • Counsel external clients on social media strategies
  • Evolve current processes and models to provide social media success metrics, engagement plans, paid plans, and social listening insights
  • Partner with Creative and Client Services counterparts to provide strategic plans, creative ideas and oversee junior team members who will assist in advising internal/external clients
  • Measure content performance and impact

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree; Business, Marketing, Journalism, Communications
  • Approximately 5+ years of social media and related industry experience or consultative and agency experience
  • Applied experience in marketing and advertising, with expertise in digital and media strategy
  • Applied experience in social media and technology
  • Strong creative design skills and familiarity with Canva and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Strong familiarity with Facebook Business Manager and campaign management and optimization
  • Strong familiarity with scheduling platforms such as Sprout
  • Ability to juggle multiple budgets and apply in client content and campaign management
  • Strong multi-task, problem-solving skills, and ability to work in a team environment
  • Strong client relations
  • Strategic skill and strong business acumen
  • Ability to delegate and provide direction to others on the team
  • Experience in supervisory and development of other team members
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and writing skills
  • Proven detail and organizational skills
  • Proven ability to manage projects independently and collaboratively to successful completion
